Anna Canzano, will be our Emcee. We are just thrilled that she will be with us as emcee this year! Anna is a former KATU anchor and reporter and now hosts her own radio talk show. She reported on the death of David Heller back in 2005 and has continued to be a friend and supporter of the David Heller Foundation.
Our special guest speaker will be Travis Volk. Come listen as he tells his own story and journey of having hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and the challenges he faced during his diagnosis and treatment. He currently is an elementary school teacher in Vancouver, and married with two children of his own. He is also an avid cyclist and he will walk us through the past 7 years of his daunting diagnosis.
We welcome back our Auctioneer Mark Kuhn. If you were here last year, you know that Mark is perfect for the job and was instrumental in the group raising over $180,000 last year! Let's plan to do it again! Do I hear $1250? (this is the cost of a portable AED!). Join us for whatever level you can give.
Thank you for supporting David Heller Foundation and helping us reach our goal that every high school in Oregon, Southwest Washington and around the region have a portable AED that travels with their student athletes. Our mission is to promote healthy teen hearts by educating students, their parents and the public on the importance of cardiac screenings in teenage athletes. Over the years, with the help of our loyal and generous supporters, we have provided more than 300 portable AEDs to schools and helped over 40,000 teen athletes get screened.
